Overview

Reporting in nVIRO is implemented using Windsor's nVISAGE reporting product.

nVISAGE provides querying against the the nVIRO Data Hub entities or using custom report data sources. Queries may be customized and saved as reports in nVISAGE report folders (private or shared). Reports may also be exported to MS Excel in support of further analysis, charting, etc.

Clients with SSRS Reporting Server implementations may access SSRS reports via the nVISAGE interface.

nVISAGE Permissions

With 2020.03, nVIRO was revised to implement permissions driven security in the Reports ( nViISAGE ) module.  module. The actions that a user can do are dependent upon the user's security level.

nVISAGE related security roles (detailed below) are now exposed to nVIRO administrator to be administered in the same fashion how they deal with other user permissions/roles within nVIRO. Since clients requirements expectations vary of on what an nVIRO Super User and vs. a 'normal' user, can and cannot do in nVISAGE, nVISAGE three new security groups were added. nVIRO administrator have the ability to administer these user groups/user roles to meet their reporting needs.  The three new security groups added are:

Each security group listed below is defined by a number of permissions (or roles); these roles are configurable, but great care should be taken when modifying security groups, as misconfiguration can expose powerful data query tools that can confuse ordinary users' with not much background in writing relational queries. For details about configuration of security groups themselves, see the Security Groups help topic.

  • nVISAGE Reports Administrator
  • nVISAGE Reports Developer
  • nVISAGE Reports Viewer

The security roles/permissions (that make up the security groups listed above) are:

  • Reports - nVISAGE - View Shared Folder (Role may view Shared Reports folder contents)
  • Reports - nVISAGE - Create New Report (Role may add new reports (using the New Report button))

Note:  The nVIRO User Security group by default has the roles of 'View Shared Folderand 'Manage My Reports'.

nVISAGE Reports Administrator security group is defined by the roles listed below:

nVISAGE Reports Developer security group is defined by the roles listed below:

nVISAGE Reports Viewer security group is defined by the roles listed below:

In addition to the roles/permissions listed above there is an additional role/permission that enables interfacing systems to access APIs defined in nVISAGE.
