nSPECT provides the ability to conduct inspections in the field while online or offline using the nSPECT Mobile app for Apple iOS and Android.

When completing an online inspection, the application will automatically sync to the server. When offline, the user will need to wait until they are connected to the server to sync. When the user is offline, some features may be disabled.

An inspection can contain multiple forms in nSPECT depending on the inspection need. The following diagram shows how an inspection is structured in nSPECT

The following are the available tabs within an inspection, Forms, Violations, and Details.

Forms

Select the inspection for from the Forms list.

The first section will open and the list of questions within the first section will appear.

At the bottom of the section there is a button prompting the user to move to the next section.

The Blue Bar at the bottom of the screen is always displayed, this displays the current section. Clicking on the Section name displays the list of forms and sections within the inspection.

Adding and Removing Additional Inspection Forms

Adding an Inspection Form

Click the blue plus sign in the top right corner.

Choose the form(s) that will be included in the inspection. Once complete, click the add button on the top right corner.

The selected form(s) will be added to the inspection.

Removing an Inspection

To remove a form from the inspection page, click “” to the right of the form name.

A pop-up window will appear, asking the user if they wish to remove the inspection form. Click Remove Inspection Form to remove the form.

Updating Form Questions

Inspection Forms are grouped by sections, each containing one or more question controls which can be formatted, pre-populated, required or conditionally displayed based on configuration.

Below are common question types with instructions on how to complete each one.

User can type in the URL using device keyboard.

GPS Coordinates

Button displayed.

Captures the latitude and longitude of the current device location.

Table or Advanced Table

Data is displayed in columns and rows, each column is a separate control.

Values can be defaulted, required and validated independently.

Calculated

System calculates and displays a value.

No response allowed.

Signature

User can sign by drawing their signature using their finger or a stylus.

Image is captured.

Drawing

User can draw an image using their finger or a stylus.

Image is captured.

Mark as Violation

Button displayed to allow user to manually create a violation.

Violation has related citation reference which syncs to nVIRO.

Repeating Section

If there is a repeating section, it will have a number next to it indicating how many sections exist. 

When opening the repeating section, to add a new item, click Add New Item.

When the user adds a new item, a new form will appear, prompting the user to enter the information.

Every time a new repeated section is added, a new form will appear.

The name of a repeating section is based on the contents within the section. For example, the well number.

When the user saves and returns to the main section, a list of repeating sections appears.

To rearrange the order of the repeating sections, click the blue arrows in the top right corner.

To rearrange the repeating section, the user will need to drag and drop each item. Then click save.

Deleting or copying a repeating section

If the user wants to copy or delete a repeating section, they should click “…” on the top right hand corner of the section.

A pop-up will appear, prompting the user to copy, delete, or exit out of the repeating section.

Complete Inspection

After completing the last section of the inspection, click Back to Inspection Detail to return to the main inspection page.


When the user completes the form, they will click Mark Complete.

When the user clicks Mark Complete, a popup will appear asking the user to confirm. Once confirmed, click Yes, Mark Complete.

After the inspection is complete, the status will be updated to complete.

View Report

This feature is disabled when the user is offline.

After the current data has been synced with nSPECT, click View Report to download the form.

After clicking View Report, a new page will appear, prompting the user to download the inspection. Click Download Inspection Report to view a PDF of the inspection.

Once downloaded, click Send to email the inspection to a select individual.

After the user clicks send, they will need to enter the recipient's email address.

After the user enters the recipient's email address and clicks send report their email application will open with a PDF of the report attached.

After the user sends the report, to go back to the inspection main page, click Go back to report or click the blue arrow on the left hand side.

Error Message

If an error were to occur, the system would generate an error message, and a Windsor Developer would address the issue as soon as possible.


Details

When opening the details section, the user will be able to view the details regarding the inspection.

Click Edit if any changes are to be made to the inspection details. To save the changes, click Save in the top right corner.


Violations

When a violation is present in an inspection, a new tab will appear at the top of the main page called, Violations. The number of violations present will appear in parentheses ().

When the user opens the Violations tab, a list of known violations will appear. 

To view the source of the violation, click the violation.

To add comments, see the date of the violation, capture GPS coordinates, or capture an image, click the plus sign on the right of the question.
