Submission Action Types

Action Categories and Action Types

Action Categories are used to clarify the general intent of a permit change submission (e.g., a Reissuance or Renewal versus a Modification). A lookup action category (e.g., New, Modification, Reissuance, Termination) is created, and all Action Types belong to an Action Category, and all Action Types are placed in the category.

Action Categories can be customized in dbo.REF_APP_REQST_ACTN_CATG:

“Submissions with "Reissuance" action types received prior to their linked permits' next application due dates will result in permits transitioning to "Extended", rather than "Expired" or "Expired - Inactive", if configured to do so.”

Action Types can be accessed within the Dates and Deadlines section of Form Details:

When adding these to a form, upon submission, there will be a dropdown to select the Form Action Type when processing the application.

Action Types and Permit Change

For permits that are expected to be renewed before they expire, an Application Due Date will be set on the Permit Category Dates and Details Page. The Application Due Date for a Permit indicates the date on which a permit renewal submission is expected to be received prior to the current permit version’s expiration date:

Assigning an Action Type on the Permit Change Submission Form will indicate the type of request for the form submission, e.g., a Modification or a Renewal. When the Action Type is for Reissuance/Renewal, Dashboard Alerts, Notifications, and Permit Expiration Status Change Alerts will be suppressed.

  • If a Permit Category is configured to automatically extend the permit upon receipt of a reissuance, then if an application with an Action Category of Reissuance is received prior to permit expiration, the permit will transition to Extended status rather than Expired.

  • If an application with an action type of Reissuance is submitted against a permit, that permit does not appear on the dashboard when the permit’s next application due date is within the configured number of days to display expired permits.

Dashboard Alerts

On the dashboard, a warning is displayed when a permit is expected:

Upon the submission of a Permit Change Form with the Action Category of Reissuance, the Dashboard Alert of the Upcoming Permit Expiration will be suppressed.
