Enhancements / Changes

GUI - Navigation, Routing, Usability, Styling

New Header/Navigation Bar. The user interface has been updated with a new common header and navigation bar for nVIRO. The new styling and layout are also applied to nSITE Explorer, though some header elements differ based on relevance.  nVISAGE will receive a similar treatment in release 2026.1.

Basic Search Panel. Basic Search results now include additional information and links to related permits.

Search Screen Click to Open. The “row click to open” behavior, previously available on most Admin list pages, has been extended to all major search list pages and site lists. Right-clicking a row now opens the record in a new tab.

Access and Certifier Requests. The Access Requests and Certifier Requests lists have been enhanced with additional information and improved consistency between the two.

Log In/Sign In Terminology. Authentication-related wording has been standardized to use “Sign In,” “Sign Out,” and “Create Account.”

SIC and NAICS Data Entry. Data entry on the Site Details page has been improved. Instead of typing individual SIC or NAICS codes separated by commas, users can now select from a simple type-ahead multi-select list.

nSPECT Scheduler Progress Display. A progress bar now appears while inspections are being added to nSPECT.

Workflow Task Checkboxes. Checkboxes for workflows or tasks that are not eligible for status updates are now hidden, rather than disabled, to improve usability and reduce confusion.

Workflow and Tasks

Workflow Task Actions. Workflows now allow for the configuration of "task actions," which are executed upon the transition of a task's status to In Process or Complete. Multiple actions can be specified and will run in sequence at the time of the status change. Available actions include:

o   Generate a document and link it to the task

o   Generate a notification and attach all linked documents

o   Add a new workflow

Contacts

External Contact Management. External users can now manage their own permit contacts, apart from Permittee and Responsible Party roles. This functionality can be enabled through permit category configuration.

Sites

Creation of Site Features Using Submission DataGrid or Advanced Table. Submission forms can now be configured to generate multiple site features from either a DataGrid or an Advanced Table control. By applying designated tags, each row creates a new feature. Tagging also allows site locations to be specified using latitude and longitude coordinates.

Submissions

Submission Package Transfer. Packages submitted to the wrong site can now be moved to a different site.

Schedules

Grace Period for Late Schedule Submissions. Schedules can be configured to include a grace period. When enabled, a violation is not assessed until the number of days specified for the grace period has passed following the due date.

Permits

Set Permit Issue Date to Current Date. Permit issue dates can now be automatically set to the current date when a new permit record is created.

External Permit Details. The Next Application Due Date field is displayed on the external user permit preview pop-up.

Public Notice and Subscriptions

Public Notice Document Attachment Download. A new Download All button has been added to the list of external public notice documents.

Subscription Alerts for Specific Sites. Users can now subscribe to site-specific alerts.

Documents

Site Image Merge. Document templates now support the integration of site images into documents.

Financials

Bulk Updating of Fee Schedules. Administrators can use an Excel file upload to bulk update annual invoice fees. The uploaded file must specify the fee type and year to modify and provide either a new fee amount or an increase percentage to apply.

Notifications

Compliance Action Assigned System Event. A new system action trigger, “Compliance Action Assigned,” has been added to support the assignment or reassignment of compliance actions.

Spatial Layers

Support for Multiple Secure Layers. The nVIRO Site Plan and nSITE Explorer can now be configured to access different secure layers.

Performance Improvements

Dashboard. Performance has been improved in several areas, including the User Account Dashboard, Submission Import from nFORM, and the Data Hub.

DMR

Bulk Status Update. Authorized users can bulk update the status of violations on the Violations tab of the Schedule and DMR Details pages.

New DMR Validation. Daily DMR data entry now supports validation for required DMR samples based on each parameter's sample frequency.

ICIS Integration

ICIS Feature Validation. Modifications to feature identifiers are now prevented when the features have been shared with ICIS.

ICIS-NPDES v5.14 Support. Staging tables have been added for ICIS-NPDES v5.14, and the ICIS-NPDES viewer has been updated.

ADA

ADA Issue Identification and Resolution. Windsor has been reviewing and addressing several ADA issues in accordance with the newer WCAG 2.2 AA standards. This work is in preparation for an effort to develop new Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPAT) for the nVIRO applications and will continue through 2026.1.

nVIRO Data Hub and nVISAGE

  • The nVIRO Data Hub was significantly refactored to address the following objectives:

Performance Improvements. Address slow reports and data synchronization caused by growing client data volume.

Technical Updates. Incorporate improvements available in the latest version of SQL Server used by nVIRO.

    Highlighted changes include:

  • Query performance has been improved for certain queries that were previously running slowly.

  • Data synchronization performance has been improved.

  • The data source catalog is now updated in real time, enabling easier and faster form and report configuration.

  • Correct form and control names are now consistently displayed in the context of a selected form data source.

  • Maintenance and support have been improved through fewer points of failure and improved diagnostic capabilities.

The redesign will also position the application for several future enhancements to nVISAGE and other integrated components.
