The following table lists the fields available on the Violation Details Page:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Program Area | The program area to which the violation relates. |
Violation Category | The category of the violation. Categories are specific to one or more program areas. The value selected here determines which options will be available in the Violation Type field below. |
Violation Type | The type of violation. A violation type relates to one or more violation categories. The violations available in this field are dependent upon the option selected in the Violation Category field above. |
Parameter | Indicates whether the violation relates to a specific sampling parameter, analyte, or pollutant. This field is searchable by entering search text. |
Start Date | The date the violation began. This can indicate the date the violation condition actually began, or the date it was first identified, depending on how the agency chooses to use this field. |
Non-Compliance End Date | The date the violation condition ended. This field can be used for different purposes depending on how an agency chooses to use it. For example, it could be used to indicate the date on which the violation condition was addressed via a compliance or enforcement action. Guidance from EPA ICIS-NPDES Violations (Single Event End Date): “This field should be left blank if the SEV is on-going (i.e., violation has not yet been corrected at the time of data entry into ICIS-NPDES). The regulatory authority should set this date to when the particular violation ends (e.g., sanitary sewer overflow from a broken pipe has stopped). “ |
Continuous Period | Indicates that the violation condition occurred on an ongoing basis between the start and end dates. |
Is Significant Non-compliance | Indicates whether or not the violation is significant. Use of this checkbox is at the discretion of individual agency and/or program. Checking this box does not affect any system behavior. |
ICIS-NPDES Single Event Violation (SEV) Data Elements This section displays when the selected Violation Category / Violation Type lookup combination has an ICIS-NPDES Single Event Violation (SEV) Code specified. EPA Guidance Note: “The four RNC fields are related to the legacy Quarterly Noncompliance Report (QNCR) and the use of significant noncompliance as a program management tool. The QNCR is currently in the process of being replaced by the NPDES Noncompliance Report (NNCR), which does not use the four RNC related fields from ICIS-NPDES. The NNCR includes all SEVs (regardless of the presence or absence of the four RNC fields). For more information, see the NNCR Technical Support Guide.” | |
