Site Inspection Events
Overview
When preparing an application or drafting or renewing a permit, it may be necessary to inspect the site to be permitted. To support this, applications and permits in nVIRO can generate a special type of event called a site inspection event, which automatically creates a corresponding evaluation record when saved.
Using a site inspection event to plan an inspection offers a quick way to create and schedule it, while also linking the inspection/evaluation record directly to the corresponding application or permit. Tracking these inspections as events helps document activities performed during the application or permit processing. This linkage also allows users to easily navigate from the application or permit to the evaluation through the Events tab, and from the evaluation back to the application or permit via the sidebar.
A Note on Terminology: In nVIRO, the term “evaluation” is used to refer to an agency review of regulated facilities, equipment, or documentation. This includes both on-site inspections and off-site desk audits and record reviews. Because this page focuses on site inspection events, which deal with on-site inspections and site visits, the term “inspection” is used throughout—except when referring specifically to an evaluation record. In practice, “evaluation” and “inspection” are largely synonymous within nVIRO and are often used interchangeably.

Linking an Existing Evaluation as a Site Inspection Event
If an evaluation record was created through another process and has not yet been recorded as a site inspection event, it can still be linked to a site inspection event after the fact.
To link an existing evaluation to a new site inspection event:
Navigate to the Events tab of the related functional area record.
Click the Add Event button.
Click the Link Existing Site Inspection option.
When prompted, select the checkbox next to each evaluation to link.
Click the Link Evaluations button. Upon linking, the system creates a site inspection event for each evaluation, closes the Link Evaluations page, and displays the newly added event(s) on the Events tab.
An evaluation can only be linked to one site inspection event.
Accessing Site Inspection Evaluation Records from the Events Tab
Site inspection evaluation records can be accessed from the Events tab by clicking the row corresponding to the site inspection event.
