Inspection Review

Overview

After an inspection is performed, it may be assigned to another user for review. When an inspection is routed for review, the assigned reviewer will have access to view and edit the inspection. The original inspector will continue to have access to view and edit the inspection while the inspection is assigned for review. The review is completed when the inspection is marked as complete either by the reviewer or the inspector.

Mobile App Note: Both the nSPECT Web site and mobile app allow assigning an inspection for review; however, only the Web site allows for searching for inspections in Review status. This capability will be added to the mobile app at a future date.

Marking Inspection for Review

Marking an inspection for review is a two step process:

  1. Assign a reviewer

  2. Request inspection review

If a reviewer is not assigned to an inspection before the inspection review is requested, the inspection is added to an Unassigned Review list.

Automatic Reviewer Assignment

For nSPECT installations that are deployed as part of the nVIRO product, the reviewer is automatically set to the inspector's workgroup supervisor. If this is correct, this step may be skipped.

See the appropriate section below depending on whether you are using the nSPECT Web site or mobile app.

Step 1: Assign a Reviewer (Web Site)

Perform the following steps to assign a reviewer:

  1. On the Inspection List home page, click the menu icon on the row for the inspection that needs review.

  2. On the displayed menu, click Edit Inspection Details.

  3. In the dialog box, select the reviewer from the list in the Reviewer field and click OK.

The reviewer has now been assigned; however, the inspection has not yet been assigned for review.

Step 2: Requesting Inspection Review (Web site)

  1. On the Inspection List home page, click the menu icon on the row for the inspection that needs review.

  2. On the displayed menu, click Request Inspection Review.

  3. Click OK to confirm the inspection is ready for review.

The inspection updates from In Process to In Review status.

If an inspection has been set to In Review, but it is later determined the inspection is not ready for review, it can be moved back to In Process by editing the inspection details and removing the Review Requested Date.

Performing an Inspection Review

Note: This function is not yet available on the nSPECT mobile app. Reviews must be performed using the nSPECT Web Site.

Searching for Inspections Needing Review

To view inspections needing review, click the checkbox icon at the bottom of the Inspection List page:

If the checkbox icon does not appear, your account does not have the necessary permissions to perform reviews. Check with your nSPECT administrator if you need your permissions updated.

By default, the Review list shows inspections assigned to the current user for review. To view inspections assigned to others for review, select the user’s name from the reviewer search box displayed at the top of the page. To view inspections under review that are not assigned to a specific reviewer, choose Unassigned from the reviewer search box.

Performing the Review

The review process consists of viewing the inspection forms to verify the answers provided by the inspector. The reviewer may update any answer during the review. The reviewer should communicate with the inspector with any feedback or needed corrections. Since the inspector and reviewer both have edit access to the inspection while the inspection is in review, reviewer and inspector should collaborate on corrections and changes to the inspection data.

Marking the Inspection Complete

Both the reviewer and inspector have the ability to mark an inspection Complete while it is in review. After the inspector and reviewer are satisfied with the inspection data, either user may choose Mark Inspection Complete from either the Inspection Review List or the main Inspections List.

After marking it as complete, the inspection is removed from nSPECT.
