Overview
Alert Types exist on the main site details screen and throughout the system. Alert types are maintained on the Lookups page on the Administration menu.
Managing alert types
To manage alert types, navigate to Admin > Lookups > alert types. The alert types List screen displays all available alert types. Additionally you may delete an unreferenced alert type from this page
Adding or Editing a alert type
From the alert type List page, either click the Add New alert type button or click Open to view/edit an existing alert type. The Edit alert type page opens:
The following fields are displayed on the Edit alert type page:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Alert Code | The internal reference code used to uniquely identify the alert type. This value must be unique |
Alert type Description | The text description for the alert type. This value must be unique. |
Functional Area | Allows selection of |
the functional area for the alert. | |
Label Style | Allows the selection of a colorization style that an alert will be given throughout the system. |
GUI Symbol | The single letter or symbol to be used by an alert throughout the system. |
System Required Alert Types
It is important to not that this admin page also lists system required alert types and these alert types can only be viewed and show a slightly modified edit page, that is view only, displaying a prominent warning that the alert is system required:
Saving Changes
To save changes, click the Save button. To cancel saving or to return to the list after saving, click the Cancel button.
Inactivating or Activating a alert type
The Status field displays in the right side panel. The Inactive | Active toggle control activates or inactivates the alert type.
