Alert Types

Overview

Alerts exist on the main site details page and throughout the system and are used to call attention to certain pieces of information related to the site. Alert types are maintained on the Lookups page on the Administration menu. 

Managing Alert Types

To manage alert types, navigate to Admin > Lookups > Alert Types. The Alert Types list page displays all available alert types:

Adding or Editing an Alert Type

On the Alert Type list page, either click the Add New Alert type button (to add a new alert type) or click Open (to view or edit an existing alert type). The Edit Alert Type page opens:

The following fields are displayed on the Edit Alert Type page:

Field

Description

Alert Code

The internal reference code used to uniquely identify the alert type. This value must be unique.

Alert type Description

The text description for the alert type. This value must be unique.

Functional Area

Allows selection of the functional area for the alert.

Label Style

Allows the selection of a colorization style that an alert will be given throughout the system.

GUI Symbol

The single letter or symbol to be used by an alert throughout the system.

System Required Alert Types

It is important to note that certain alert types are system required. These alert types can not be edited and display a slightly modified view-only edit page:

Saving Changes

To save changes, click the Save button. To cancel saving or to return to the list after saving, click the Cancel button.

Inactivating or Activating an Alert Type

In the Status field, in the right side panel, click the Inactive | Active toggle control to activate or inactivate the alert type. 

Deleting an Alert Type

Alert types may be deleted from the Alert Type List page if they have not been referenced elsewhere in the application. 

To delete an alert type, click on the corresponding action menu (three vertical dots) and click Delete.
