Alert Types
Overview
Alert types are used to classify alerts, aggregate alerts for portfolios, and style the label that appears next to each alert in the right sidebar of the relevant detail page. For more information about alerts, see the Alerts page.
Searching Alert Types
To view all available alert types, navigate to Admin > Lookups > Alert Types.
Adding or Editing an Alert Type
On the Alert Types page, click the Add New Alert type button to add a new alert type or click on an existing alert type to open it.
The following fields appear on the New Alert Type and Edit Alert Type pages.
Field | Description | Notes |

Alert Code | A unique identifier for the alert type. | Once an alert type is created, its alert code cannot be changed. |
Alert Type Description | A description of the alert type. | The alert type description must be unique within the system. |
Functional Area | The functional area to which the alert relates. |

Label Style | The color of the icon that will be used to identify the alert. |
|
GUI Symbol | A single letter or symbol to appear on the icon that will be used to identify the alert. |

System-Required Alert Types
Certain alert types are required by the system and cannot be edited. Upon opening a system-required alert type, all fields are locked, and the following message appears: “This lookup record is system required and cannot be edited.”
The following system-required alert types are included in most implementations.

Saving Changes
To save changes, click the Save button. A message will display confirming the save. To cancel saving or return to the list after saving, click the Cancel button.
Activating or Deactivating an Alert Type
The current status of the alert type is shown in the right side panel. Use the Inactive | Active toggle to activate or deactivate the alert type.
Deleting an Alert Type
Alert types can be deleted from the Alert Types page as long as they have not been referenced elsewhere in the system. To delete an alert type, click the Actions menu (⋮) and select the Delete option.
