Compliance Action Types

Compliance Action Types

Overview

Compliance action types classify the different measures an agency may take in response to an alleged breach of law, rule, or permit requirement. Examples of compliance actions include notice of violation letters and administrative orders. Compliance action categories are used to further group compliance action types.

Notes

Lookup Code

The lookup code for the compliance action type.

Lookup Description

A description of the compliance action type.

Compliance Action Category

The compliance action category to which the compliance action type belongs.

Categories are currently configured as part of system installation and configuration. The assigned category indicates whether or not the compliance action is formal or informal.

Program Areas

The program areas to which the compliance action type applies.

The compliance action type can be active or inactive for each program area.

Default Workflow Template (Read-Only)

When a default workflow template is provided, its tasks are automatically added to new compliance actions in the specified program area.

Default workflow templates are added only when a new compliance action is created. If the compliance action type or program area is changed later, the previously added template remains, and a new template is not added. A workflow row can be deleted if it is not used on any records. It may also be resubmitted later.

Display 'Compliance Action Case Number' for Compliance Actions of this Type

If selected, a field appears on the Compliance Action Details page where users can enter a case number for the compliance action.

This is mutually exclusive with the compliance action number.

Case numbers are also searchable on the Compliance Action List page.

Enable Confidentiality

If selected, a Confidential checkbox appears on the Compliance Action Details page.

This restricts access to the compliance action to a specified set of users. For more information, see the Designating a Compliance Action as Confidential page.

Show 'Active' Compliance Actions of This Type in My Tasks

If selected, compliance actions in an Active status will be visible on the user’s My Tasks page. Unchecking this option can be useful to remove clutter if a user is assigned too many compliance active actions that do not require active work to be done.

Show Fines Tab on Compliance Action Detail page

If selected, the Fines tab will display on the Compliance Action Details page for compliance actions of this type.

Compliance Action Numbering Scheme

If selected, nVIRO applies a specific numbering scheme to new compliance actions of this type. Numbering schemes are configured as part of system installation and configuration.

If no Compliance Action Number Prefix scheme is selected, a compliance action number will not be generated.

ICIS Enforcement Action Type Code

Mapping of the nVIRO compliance action type to an ICIS-NPDES enforcement action type code.

Default Program Components

When a default program component is added to a compliance action type, it is automatically added when a compliance action of that type is created.

Default program components are only added for new compliance actions. If the compliance action type is changed after it’s created, the previously added component forms remain, and the new default program components are not added. A component row can be deleted if it is not used on any records. It may also be resubmitted later.
