Project Categories

Overview

Projects are classified into project categories and project types. These are maintained from the Administrative menu under Lookups. 

Managing Project Categories

The Edit Project Category page supports maintenance of both the project category and its relationship to multiple project types. 

To manage project categories, navigate to Admin > Lookups > Project Categories. The Project Categories List page displays all available project categories.

Adding or Editing a Project Category

From the Project Category List page, either click the Add New Project Category button or click the row to Open and view/edit an existing project category.

Description

Project Category Code

The internal reference code used to uniquely identify the project category. This value must be unique.

Project Category Description

The text description for the project category. This value must be unique.

Related Project Types

Identifies the project types that relate to the project category. This can be edited to add or remove related project types. 

Saving Changes

To save changes, click the Save button. A message box opens, prompting the user to confirm the save. To cancel saving or to return to the list after saving, click the Cancel button.

Inactivating or Activating a Project Category

The Status field is located in the right-side panel. This field contains an Inactive | Active toggle control that activates or inactivates the project category. When updated, the record status is immediately changed (clicking Save is not required).
