The Violation Details Page allows for viewing and editing a violation.

Navigation Tabs

The following navigation tabs are available across the top of the page:

Tab Name

Description

Details

Displays details of the violation.

Sampling

Sample results related to the violation. This tab is only visible for certain violation types based on configuration.

Docket

Lists the evaluation that first identified the violation and any compliance actions that reference the violation.

The following table lists the fields available on the Violation Details Page:

Field

Description

Program Area

The program area to which the violation relates.

Violation Category

The category of the violation. Categories are specific to one or more program areas.

Violation Type

The type of violation. A violation type relates to one or more violation categories.

Parameter

Indicates if the violation relates to a specific sampling parameter or analyte. This field is searchable by entering search text.

Start Date

The date the violation began. This can indicate the date the violation condition actually began, or the date it was first identified, depending on how the agency chooses to use this field.

Non-Compliance End Date

The date the violation condition ended. This field can be used for different purposes depending on how an agency chooses to use it. For example, it could be used to indicate the date on which the violation condition was addressed via a compliance or enforcement action.

Continuous Period

Indicates that the violation condition occurred on an ongoing basis between the start and end date.

Is Significant Non-compliance

Indicates whether or not the violation is significant.

Use of this checkbox is at the discretion of individual agency and/or program. Checking this box does not affect any system behavior.

Parameter

Indicates if the violation relates to a specific sampling parameter or analyte. This field is searchable by entering search text.

The date the violation began. This can indicate the date the violation condition actually began, or the date it was first identified, depending on how the agency chooses to use this field.

The end date of the violation condition. This field can be used for different purposes depending on how an agency chooses to use it. For example, it could be used to indicate the date on which the violation condition was addressed via a compliance or enforcement action.

ICIS-NPDES Single Event Violation (SEV) Data Elements

This section displays when the selected Violation Category / Violation Type lookup combination has an ICIS-NPDES Single Event Violation (SEV) Code specified.

RNC Detection Code

Used for transmitting Single Event Violations to ICIS-NPDES. The Reportable Non-Compliance (RNC) detection type, as defined by ICIS-NPDES.

RNC Detection Date

Used for transmitting Single Event Violations to ICIS-NPDES. The date the Reportable Non-Compliance (RNC) violation was detected.

RNC Resolution Code

Used for transmitting Single Event Violations to ICIS-NPDES. The Reportable Non-Compliance (RNC) resolution type, as defined by ICIS-NPDES.

RNC Resolution Date

Used for transmitting Single Event Violations to ICIS-NPDES. The date the Reportable Non-Compliance (RNC) violation was resolved.

Status Description

Text description of the status of the violation.

Comment

Comments relating to the violation.

Specific Violation Reference

Text description of the statute, regulation, or law to which the violation relates.

Right Sidebar Controls

The following table lists the fields available on the right sidebar:

Description

Status

The violation status. Violation status can be updated either directly by the user or by the nVIRO system depending on the situation.
Specific nVIRO implementations may utilize additional statuses beyond the basic statuses listed below:

  • Active – Not Reviewed - The default status of all new system-generated (late schedule/DMR) violations.

  • Active – Reviewed/Evaluated - Indicates that the violation has been reviewed/confirmed by agency staff. This is the default status for all manually entered violations.

  • Active - (Linked Compliance Action Category/Status) - When a compliance action is taken that references the violation, the status will update to reflect the linkage between the compliance action and the violation. Compliance action status is also taken into account.

Technical Note

Violation status text based on the linked compliance action category and status can be configured in the database table REF_VIOL_TO_CMPL_ACTN_VIOL_STAT

  • Inactive - Data Entry Error - Manually set status that indicates a violation was added in error.

  • Inactive - Resolved - Indicates the violation has been resolved.

Site

Name and address of the site to which the violation relates.

Source Evaluation

Link to the evaluation that first identified the violation condition.

Other Actions - View History

Opens a panel displaying all the edits that have occurred to the record, including who made the edit, the time of the edit, and the data before and after the change.
