Auto-Issuing Authorizations When a Master General Permit Goes Into Effect

When a new master general permit (MGP) is in the status of In Process, a processor can link new coverages to the MGP. When linked and the processing is finished, the status of the coverage can be set to Ready to Be Issued.

When the MGP is set to In Effect, the system will automatically update the linked coverages' issued and effective date to match the MGP, and will set the linked coverages to In Effect. The coverages' associated submissions will also be set to Completed. The expiration date will be determined in the permit category lookup settings.

Authorization Renewal while Master General Permit is In Effect

If an authorization is renewed within the MGP effective date, then the previous permit number can be configured to automatically be assigned the status of Extended. For information on this, please visit the Lookup Maintenance wiki page and the ‘Automatically Extend Permit upon Expiration’ setting. It ensures that while the new permit version is In Process, the old permit version is still covered. This allows coverage not to lapse after the MGP expires but while the new permit version is In Process.

View Authorizations Under a Master General Permit

To view all authorizations under a MGP, navigate to the Home tab. Under the Permits menu, search for a master general permit number.

There may be several versions that are in different statuses: In Effect, Expired, or Superseded. Once the correct MGP is located, click the Open button to the right of the MGP. The permit details page will appear with information about the master general permit.

To view the authorizations/coverages under the MGP, click the Coverages tab. This will list all of the authorizations under the MGP and provide quick reference information like the permit effective/issue/expire dates, the permittee, site, and permit status. From this page, click the Open button to navigate to each authorization permit details page.
