The Relations tab shows entities that are related to the current record.
Any changes made to relations are recorded in the Audit History for both the current and related entities. Also, if a record is merged or split, a relation is automatically created noting the merge/split action on this screen.
Relationship Types
Relationship Types describe the relationship between two linked records.
Relationship types can be directional or non-directional. A non-directional relationship will have the same description whether viewing the relationship from either entity. For example "Same Owner" is a non-directional relationship. A directional relationship will have a different description depending on the side of the relationship in which it is being viewed. Directional relationships are commonly "parent-child" relationships. For example a relation may say "Owned By" from one side of the relationship, but "Owns" from the other. When adding a relationship, both "sides" of a directional relationship will be available for selection. To continue using the previous example, the user will be able to select either "Owns" or "Owned By" when setting the relationship.
