AceOffix Troubleshooting

Issue: Aceoffix opening in an MS Word Window instead of Ace Browser

Certain issues have been identified that cause Aceoffix to open in MS Word instead of the browser. This is most often caused by not having Word settings set to optimize for compatibility.

Setting Compatibility mode

Within your word program on your computer (not within Aceoffix):

  • Open Word.
  • Click Options.
  • In the General options, click Optimize for Compatibility (application restart required).

  • Click OK.
  • Restart your PC.

Still not working?

Single Monitor?

Possibly an MS Office suite problem. 
  1. Please use professional and higher versions of MS Office. Do not use the home version.
  2. Please make sure that MS Office suite is fully installed.


If the above 2 points are not the cause, then try re-installing MS Office to see if this issue can be solved.

Add-Ins?

If re-installing MS Office does not solve this problem, please try the following:

Modify Word Add-in option:

  1. Open up a local copy of Word

  2. Select File > Options > Add-ins

  3. Click GO on Manage COM Add-ins


4. A popup will appear, allowing you to remove Add-ins.

5. Select all Add-ins, EXCEPT Aceoffix Add-in, and click "Remove."

6. Click OK and restart your computer.

  • If this solves the issue, you can add the necessary add-ins one by one to confirm which add-in caused the issue.

Monitor Scaling

If the scaling on any monitor hooked to the workstation is greater than 100%, it may result in Aceoffix opening in Word rather than in Ace Browser.
