Violations

Overview

Violations are deficiencies or compliance issues that have been identified during an evaluation. Violations are addressed via one or more compliance actions.

Violation details may be accessed through either a related evaluation or compliance action.

Creating Violations

Violations can be created in several different ways:

  • Manually adding a violation to an evaluation.

  • For evaluations conducted using nSPECT, marking an inspection answer as a violation. (This requires the nSPECT inspection form to be set up properly.)

  • Automatically created by the system when a schedule is not submitted by the due date.

  • Automatically created by the system when a DMR is submitted where a value entered on the DMR creates a violation.

Key Violation Information

Violations have the following key features:

  • A program area. This assists in determining which program is affected by this identified violation.

  • A violation category and violation type to classify (and sub-classify) the type of violation.

  • A violation status indicating whether it is active or inactive.

  • A source evaluation contact indicating the responsible party or parties to which the permit is issued.

Violation Statuses and Transitions

Violation statuses can be set either manually or automatically.

Violation statuses and transitions can vary depending on how your system is configured.

Available violation statuses and transition options can be viewed by navigating to Admin → Lookups → Violation Statuses.Â
