Evaluations and Inspections
Overview
Evaluations include on-site inspections, off-site record reviews, and desk audits. If configured, inspections can be conducted using nSPECT, an integrated mobile inspection application.
In nVIRO, the term “evaluation” refers broadly to an agency review of regulated facilities, equipment, or documentation. Within this section, the term “inspection” is used when referring specifically to on-site activities or tasks conducted in nSPECT.
Evaluation Statuses
Evaluation statuses are divided into three main categories—Draft, Active, or Closed—which drive system behavior. The specific statuses within each category are configurable, and some implementations may include additional statuses not listed below.
Status Category | Status | Description | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Draft | Planned | The evaluation has been created and planned but not yet conducted. | This is the default status for all new evaluations. |
Active | In nSPECT | The inspection is being conducted in nSPECT. | This status is automatically applied when the Add to nSPECT button is clicked on the Evaluation Details page. |
Processed | The inspection has been completed and successfully synced to nVIRO. |
| |
Uncomplete - to nSPECT | The inspection, which was previously processed, has been reopened in nSPECT. | This status is temporary. Once the nSPECT inspection record is reopened, it will automatically change to In nSPECT. This status change can be completed by a member of the Super User, Evaluations Administrator, or Evaluations Status Manager security groups. When an evaluation is changed to this status, any linked violations are deleted. If the evaluation resulted in or is linked to a compliance action, the status change to In nSPECT is allowed. | |
Closed | Complete | The evaluation processor has completed all post-inspection activities, and the evaluation is closed. | If nSPECT is not being used—such as when recording an inspection after it has been conducted or for inspection activities outside the nSPECT software—the evaluation status can be changed directly from Planned to Complete. Only users with appropriate permissions can reopen a closed evaluation. |
Withdrawn | The evaluation is no longer needed. |
