Working with Evaluations
Searching Evaluations Across Sites
Evaluations can be searched through topic search. For more information, see the Topic Search page.
Searching Site-Specific Evaluations
To view evaluations for a specific site, navigate to the Site Details page, then click the Evaluations option in the left navigation bar to open the Evaluations page. Click a row to view or edit details for that evaluation.
Clicking the Actions button (⋮) next to an evaluation displays two options:
View Detail: Opens the Evaluation Details page. This can also be opened by clicking anywhere on the row.
View Summary: Opens a dialog displaying key evaluation details, such as the evaluation type, start and end date, and agency contact, without leaving the Evaluations page. This can be helpful to quickly differentiate similar evaluations.
Creating an Evaluation
Evaluations can be created from a site’s Evaluations page, by creating and publishing an evaluation plan, by creating a site inspection event, or using nSPECT. Note: The Internal User must have the Evaluation - Creator security role assigned to their user account in order to create Evaluations.
Creating an Evaluation from a Site’s Evaluations Page
To create an evaluation from a site’s Evaluations page:
Navigate to the Site Details page.
Click the Evaluations option in the left navigation bar.
Click the Add New Evaluation button to open the Evaluation Details page.
Complete relevant fields. For information on fields on this page, see the Viewing and Editing Evaluation Details page.
Click the Save button.
Creating an Evaluation Using an Evaluation Plan
Evaluation plans allow users to generate multiple evaluations at once for different facilities, evaluation types, and dates. For more information about creating and publishing evaluation plans, see the Evaluation Plans page.
Creating an Evaluation Using a Site Inspection Event
Permits and other submissions can include site inspection events to support inspections required by the permit or permit renewal process. For more information about creating and editing site inspection events, see the Site Inspection Events page.
Creating an Inspection in nSPECT2
If staff need to conduct an unscheduled site inspection while in the field, they can create an inspection directly in nSPECT2. This may require temporarily disconnecting from the nSPECT server.
Step 1: Add the Site and Conduct the Inspection
To add an unscheduled inspection in nSPECT2:
Navigate to the My Inspections page.
Click the Add Inspection button to open the Add Site to Inspect page.
Enter the site name in the Site Name field. The site key will be added later to synchronize the inspection to the correct site.
Click the Save button. This opens the Form Selection page.
Select and complete the desired inspection form(s). For information on conducting an inspection, see the nSPECT support section.
Step 2: Synchronize the Inspection
Because this inspection was not initiated in nVIRO, it does not yet have a corresponding evaluation.
To synchronize the inspection with nVIRO:
Navigate to the site in nVIRO.
Copy the site number from the top right corner of the Site Details page.
In nSPECT2, click the Edit Inspection Details button for the inspection.
Paste the site number into the Site Key field.
Click the Save button. The inspection data will automatically synchronize with nVIRO, and an evaluation will be created in nVIRO on the designated site.
If the site does not yet exist in nVIRO, create it there and then follow the steps above.
Scheduling an Evaluation as an nSPECT Inspection
To schedule an evaluation as an nSPECT inspection:
Open the Evaluation Details page.
Confirm all required fields are correctly populated and that the evaluation is in Planned status.
Click the Add to nSPECT button. The evaluation status changes to In nSPECT, and an inspection record is created in nSPECT and assigned to the evaluator.
For information on simultaneously scheduling multiple evaluations, see the nSPECT Scheduler page.
For certain evaluation types, it is possible to bypass scheduling and move the status directly from Planned to Processed. This may be helpful when an inspection form is not relevant to the evaluation type or when another type of form is being used (such as a paper form).
Scheduling a Follow-Up Evaluation
If a violation was identified or reviewed during an inspection, it is listed on the Violations tab of the Evaluation Details page.
To quickly schedule a follow-up evaluation:
Select the checkboxes next to the violation(s) to be reassessed, then click the Create Follow-up Evaluation button.
Complete relevant fields. For information on fields on this page, see the Viewing and Editing Evaluation Details page.
Click the Save Evaluation button.
Removing an Inspection from nSPECT2
If an evaluation is sent to nSPECT2 with incorrect information, such as the wrong permit linked, it may need to be removed from nSPECT2 before it is started.
To remove an inspection:
Open nSPECT2 and navigate to My Inspections page.
Click the menu icon next to the inspection to be removed.
Select the Remove Inspection option.
When prompted, click the OK button to confirm and remove the inspection.
Once the inspection is removed from nSPECT2, the corresponding evaluation in nVIRO returns to Planned status. The evaluation can be added back to nSPECT2 after corrections have been made.
