Getting Around the Platform
Overview
This page introduces the basic layout of the nVIRO platform to provide an overview of the main pages and how the system is organized.
Core Pages
Most users interact with two key types of pages in nVIRO: list pages and detail pages. These pages work together to help locate, view, and manage information within the system.
List Pages
List pages, including search pages, display lists of records. Specific columns and information displayed vary by page, context, and configuration. On most list pages, click anywhere on a row to open the detail page for that record.
A search panel appears on every list page where users can search for specific records within the list.
Lists can also be filtered by entering text in the filter fields beneath the column headings.
Detail Pages
Detail pages display functional area records. They include various navigation tabs, depending on the functional area and other configuration, where users can view and manage basic details and other data such as workflows, tasks, documents, events, and contacts related to the record.
For information on the core detail pages, see:
Main Navigation Menu
The main navigation menu appears across the top of every page in nVIRO. It provides access to the global search bar, the nVIRO AI Assistant (if configured), notifications, help, and the User Profile, as well as quick links to the My Tasks dashboard, Inbox, and Admin area (if the user has administrative permissions).
Users can also switch between integrated nVIRO apps, such as nSITE Explorer or nVISAGE, by clicking the App Menu button on the left side of the main navigation menu.
Global Search Bar
The global search bar is on the right side of the main navigation menu. Upon clicking it, users are prompted to choose one of two search options:
Basic Search: Searches the system for matching site records. For more information, see the Basic Search page.
Topic Search: Provides a menu of search topics corresponding to nVIRO functional areas. For more information, see the Topic Search page.
nVIRO AI Assistant
Clicking the sparkle icon in the main navigation menu opens the nVIRO AI Assistant chat window. This icon only appears when an agency has enabled AI features. For more information on the nVIRO AI Assistant and other AI features in nVIRO, see the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Features page.
Notifications
Clicking the notifications icon displays a list of unread notifications. Clicking a notification opens the full notification message. Clicking the View All link opens a list page where all notifications can be viewed and managed. For more information on notifications, see the Notifications page.
Help
Clicking the help icon opens the help menu. Help links listed here are configurable and can be customized for internal and external users. Clicking a help link opens the linked page in a new tab.
By default, the Windsor Product Support homepage is linked for internal users. When available, a Help With This Page link also appears and directs users to support information for the current page.
User Information
Clicking the user’s initials displays the full name and email address associated with the current user and two links: Profile & Settings and Sign Out. Clicking the Profile & Settings link opens the User Profile page, where user information and platform preferences can be viewed and managed. Clicking the Sign Out link logs the user out of nVIRO.
Most user information is managed by users with administrative permissions. For more information, see the User Management page.
