External User Access Requests

External User Access Requests

Overview

External users may submit requests for access to external accounts (Sites, Persons, Organizations) via the 'Request Site Access' function in Site Explorer. When requests are submitted, they are set to Pending and appear in the Access Requests list under the Admin menu for review and approval by internal staff. Internal staff with the correct security role to see this page may approve or deny the request.

The search bar at the top of the page allows the internal user to review past and current requests with the status of approved, pending, or denied. It can be filtered to search for a specific access request by name, email, or site name.

Reviewing and Approving or Denying Requests

Access requests are listed on the Access Requests List page. To list all pending access requests, select pending in the search bar if not already defaulted. The list provides hyperlinks to the site to review and to the user’s email.

  1. Click Open on the right-hand side of the user's information.

  2. A new page will appear with the requester's information.

  1. Under the Request Status, select the new status of either Approved or Denied.

Once a new Request Status has been chosen, the menu will change to show the below options:

  1. The internal user now has the option to choose the external user's Role (Administrator, Editor, Viewer) as well as check the Approve Certifier Status box. Please see this page for an explanation on the Certifier Status: CROMERR and Electronic Signatures in nVIRO | Granting Certifier Rights to a Specific Facility or Entity

  2. Add any comments under the Agency Processing Comments, if needed.

  3. Click Save
